Strömungsprobleme in Anwendungen, wie turbulente Strömungen, werden oft durch die Konvektion dominiert.
Spezielle, sogenannte stabilisierte, Methoden sind notwendig, um stabile Simulationen durchzuführen und
physikalisch konsistente numerischen Lösungen zu berechnen. Die Vorlesung gibt eine Einführung in dieses
Gebiet.

 - numerische Methoden für konvektions-dominante Gleichungen der Strömungsmechanik
- stabilisierte Finite Differenzen, Finite Elemente und Finite Volumen Methoden
- diskretes Maximumprinzip
- stationäre und zeitabhängige Probleme

Flow problems in applications are often convection dominated, like turbulent flows. Special (stabilized) methods are necessary to perform stable simulations and to compute physically consistent numerical solutions. This course provides an introduction in this field.
