Signals that the scheduler is currently optimizing time and rooms of all courses. Department admins may still alter the scheduling (time/room) preferences to resolve conflicts or other scheduling problems.

  • The course instance must not be deleted.
  • Secretaries or lecturers can still update texts, but NOT alter the scheduling (time/room) preferences
  • All other data (including course state) can only be changed by directors or department administrators.

Zugangsvoraussetzungen: keine.

Prerequisites: None.

Learning objectives: Students are confident in using complex methods of statistical modeling, data science, and machine learning. They are able to analyze and model univariate and spatiotemporal datasets in the context of questions relevant to the field of Earth sciences. They can assess the capabilities and limitations of the approaches covered. Furthermore, they are able to implement the analysis approaches and models discussed in the course in a statistical programming environment, apply them to their own research questions, interpret results confidently, and independently contribute to current research projects.

Content: Students learn advanced fundamentals of statistical modeling. They engage with linear and additive regression methods, as well as models and approaches for classification and clustering. They study the verification of probabilistic forecasts, stochastic processes, and geostatistical approaches, with a particular focus on questions from the field of atmospheric sciences.
