Description

In diesem Seminar geht es um außergewöhnliche Polytope. Wir diskutieren also einzelne Beispiele, ihre Konstruktion und die wichtigsten Eigenschaften. Einige dieser Beispiele wurden verwendet, um Probleme zu lösen, Vermutungen zu widerlegen, aber auch um Vermutungen zu stützen. Einige haben auch unerforschte oder unerklärliche Eigenschaften, und die wollen wir natürlich auch ansehen.

Das Seminar wird vermutlich großteils auf Englisch stattfinden.

Description

In this seminar we will study some remarkable examples of polytopes, discuss the construction techniques and derive the most important properties. Some of these were used to solve problems, disprove conjectures, or are examples to support such. Some also have unexplored or unexplained properties that we will look at.

The seminar will probably take place mostly in English.
