The lecture serves as an introduction to fundamental ideas and concepts for scientific visualization with applications to mathematics, computer graphics and natural sciences. Hereby, it will focused on a selection of the following topics:
- Basic data structures
- Representation of geometries as discrete meshes
- Discrete surface theory
- Subdivision curves and surfaces
- Wavelets
- Modelling
- Vector field visualization
- Visualization software and typical examples
The course is held in English and is also suitable for BMS students.
