This lecture focusses on optics and nonlinear optical methods essential for spectroscopic methods used to investigate molecular systems (mainly) in condensed phase. ight-matter interaction will be discussed to understand linear and non-linear spectroscopic methods. Frequency conversion methods will be introduced and pump-probe and 2D spectroscopic methods and microscopic techniques will be discussed as examples.
