Tuesday 4 - 6 pm

A7/SR 031

The seminar starts with a small introduction of the use of AI (whatever that is) historically in mathematical research followed by a short introduction to the basics of machine learning. Then the participants will present use cases of AI in mathematics at the research level. Here, the emphasis is on the mathematical background of the derived results and, especially, how AI was used. The technical details of the AI implementation is less in the focus of the seminar. The overall goal is to get a feeling for the mathematical research process and how AI can potentially contribute in it. Each student is supposed to summarize their insights in a short report in the end.
