Statistics for Computer Science will be an introductory foray into the mathematical world of probability and statistics from an applied perspective of Computer Science. The course will briefly touch upon applications with high dimensional data, classification, regression, Markov chains after building the requisite foundations of randomization, distributions, experimentation and inference. The course is relevant for students who wish to master the fundamentals behind the buzzwords of today.
Lectures will be held in English. Elementary exposure to combinatorics and mathematical acuity will be helpful.
