Content:
Functional analysis is the branch of mathematics concerned with the investigation of normed vector spaces (or more generally topological vector spaces) and linear continous maps between those. Analysis, topology and algebra will be combined. The lecture will treat Banach- and Hilbert-spaces, linear operators. One of the main goals is the spectral theory of compact operators.
Additional information can be found on the homepage of this lecture.

Target audience: students from the 3rd/4th semester on
Prerequisites: Analysis I/II and Lineare Algebra I/II.
