Communicating mathematics's significance, applications, and rigor to a general audience is a critical skill that can influence public policy, create a mathematically literate population, and secure more research funding. This seminar will introduce students to the fundamental theories in science communication and will discuss how these are applied to communicating mathematics. Additionally, students will implement these theories in practical applications of mathematical science communication. Topics include internal science communication, evaluation efforts, informal education, popularizing mathematics, and more.
