• Data analysis and descriptive statistics: histograms; empirical distribution; characteristics of sample distributions; examples of misleading descriptive statistics; linear regression
• Elementary concepts and techniques of testing and estimation: maximum likelihood principle; confidence intervals; hypothesis testing; first and second type of error
